How is your PULSE?

Updated: Jan 26, 2022

The body’s pulse rate is a fairly accurate method of determining how well the heart is working. Business also has a pulse and will quickly tell you whether your organisation is operating at its healthiest. Not sure how yours is functioning? Here’s a list of five easy ways to check:

1. Have a look at your systems.

Have a look at your business plan and see how it compares to the way in which your business is actually operating. What about your marketing technical system, customer and client support system, and marketing system? Ensure that what’s written down is actually how your business is functioning, and that all of these systems include the way your employees should be operating also. No matter how big or your small your organisation, these are things that should be in place.

2. Evaluate your staff.

The people in your organisation are the ones who are going to make or break your business. Staff who are motivated work better, strengthening the backbone of your company, and ultimately the company’s ability to perform. Staff who don’t understand their job or aren’t motivated to perform are not going to help you reach your goal.

3. Check out the suppliers outside of your organisation.

Whether its software, accounting, technology, or marketing, your organisation is likely to outsource at least a part of your regular operations. It’s important to regularly evaluate these vendors to ensure that they are actually bringing your business value. A marketing company who isn’t able to convey your message to help grow your business isn’t doing you any favours.

4. Gauge what are your customers saying.

Your organisation has a target market and engaging with this segment is incredibly important to better understand how you are performing as an organisation. Consider developing a tool for customer satisfaction

5. Evaluate, prescribe, re-evaluate.

All of the above is great to have a look at and improve upon. But if you’re not going to re-evaluate in, say, 6-months time to see how your business has improved then how can you know how far you’ve come or how far you still need to go to reach your goals? Always check in following a change in direction and make sure that the change is working for your organisation.

Your business is important and should be showcased in the best way possible. Ensuring that your business has a healthy pulse is one way you can ensure that happens. We can’t wait to help you with this and continue to strengthen your company’s PULSE.

Pulse. We love what we do. We do what we promise.
